Yarnell Beatty is a Williamson County father who lost his oldest son, Alex, at age 24 to an accidental drug overdose in 2016, after a ten-year battle with substance use disorder. To honor Alex’s life, Yarnell has worked through East Brentwood Presbyterian Church’s Breaking the Silence ministry to advocate for the elimination of the stigma surrounding addiction and mental illness in the community and help parents navigate through their teen's or young adult’s addiction and mental health challenges.
